Jennifer Karmin, Michael Leong & Estela Lamat
Jennifer Karmin's text-sound epic Aaaaaaaaaaalice will be published by
Flim Forum Press in 2009. She curates the Red Rover Series and is a
founding member of the public art group Anti Gravity Surprise. Her
multidisciplinary projects have been presented at festivals,
artist-run spaces, and on city streets across the U.S. and Japan. At
home in Chicago, she teaches creative writing to immigrants at Truman
College and works as a Poet in Residence for the public schools.
Michael Leong’s poetry career began in the sixth grade when he won his
first and only poetry prize in Mr. Harrison’s class for a haiku about
a snake. Since then, he has published poems and translations in
journals such as Action Yes, Bird Dog, Double Room, jubilat,
Marginalia, Opium Magazine, Pindeldyboz, and Tin House. He is the
author of I, the Worst of All (blazeVOX [books], 2009), a translation
of the Chilean poet Estela Lamat, and e.s.p. (Silenced Press, 2009).
He currently lives in New York City.
Estela Lamat was born at the age of eight in the backyard of the
house. She has conducted meticulous nocturnal studies of
sleeplessness, of stellar chances and causalities. Tamer of cats,
enologist by nose, left-handed, and epileptic, she has never been in a
workshop; she has never entered any contests; nor has she won any
literary awards.

Some Goods & Then Some More Goods
The Brooklyn Bookfest happens on Sunday, September 13th and this discussion which takes place at St. Francis College looks pretty good:

The 13th is also the final day of the Boog City Festival with a day long reading at Unnameable Books featuring friend and soon-to-be-press mates, Veronica Wong. I'll post the complete schedule sometime next week.

The other day I was reading Nicolle Elizabeth's blog and discovered this pizza blog. Awesome, you know I always look at the artist, Stella Hultberg's blog to see what she & often her husband, Matthew, have been eating. My favorite cat, Ethan, also has a guest appearance on the blog. I don't know Vanessa but she and I share friends in common and I often look at her blog for food. Although the more recent post haven't been as food-centric.
Does anyone know of any good coffee &/or beer blogs?

Jena Osman’s books include *An Essay in Asterisks* (Roof) and *The Character* (Beacon). Her book *The Network* is forthcoming from Essay Press. She co-edits the ChainLinks book series with Juliana Spahr and teaches in the graduate Creative Writing program at Temple University.
Tan Lin is a writer, artist, and critic. His most recent book is *Heath: Plagiarism/Outsource* from Zasterle, and his new work *Seven Controlled Vocabularies* is forthcoming from WesleyanUniversity Press. His visual and video work has been exhibited at the Yale Art Museum (New Haven), the Sophienholm (Copenhagen), and the Marianne Boesky Gallery (NYC).

Our fifth reading is around the corner, and it's a multimedia affair featuring work by Chloe Bass, Paul Tunis, Nicolle Elizabeth, and Jordan Scott. Come to the library on Saturday the 11th from 3 to 5PM, and expect a random grab bag of video, audio, and other elements you may be unused to encountering in a library... as well as (more traditionally) poetry, prose, and FULL USE of the chalkboard.
