June News

Happy June. I'm thrilled to say I have a new poem in this print issue which you can purchase here. It's beautiful and probably one of the few journals you'll read cover to cover without a care about "genre" 'casue it's just plain great writing from start to finish! The ever-awesome, Joe Hall, has been doubly kind with his words recently too! Here's a nice thing he wrote about my collab chap with Veronica. Also, here's a rad review he wrote for the double collab written by Julia Cohen & Mathias Svalina (which I guest-edited for Immaculate Disciples Press)! Finally, I have two readings left, which I'm sure I'll blog about as they approach but here are the basics: Southern Writers Reading Series with Angela Veronica Wong Wednesday, June 13, 2012 | 7:30PM | Southern Writers Reading Series | Happy Ending Lounge (302 Broome St.) | New York, NY Fireside Follies, June 15 |7pm|Brooklyn Fire Proof |119 Ingraham Street (at Porter Ave.)| Brooklyn, NY| Subway: L train to Morgan

I.M. for Sister (10-31-71-05-07-11)

What do you think has become of the young and old men?/ And what do you think has become of the women and children?/ They are alive and well somewhere,/ The smallest sprout shows there is really no death,/ And if ever there was it led forward life, and does not wait at the end arrest it,/ And ceas'd the moment life appear'd./ All goes onward and outward, nothing collapses,/ And to die is different from what any one supposed, and luckier. "What Is the Grass?" Walt Whitman

New Immaculate Disciples Press Chapbook

I'm guest-editing the next title in Dan Magers's chapbook press, Immaculate Disciples, & I'm pleased to say, it's going to be a monster. It's a double chapbook of collaborative poems by Julia Cohen & Mathias Svalina. These are some of the best poems I've read in a long time. They are filled with whimsy and imagination, the dark stuff, the gutted stuff, & the blooming things that go bright in the sky. You can pick it up at AWP (Table Y:J2). After AWP, you'll be able to get it from the Immaculate website, at the CUNY Chapbook Fest, and from Berl's.

The cover was done by Joseph Lappie & screened near the Hudson River by Caitlin Wheeler.
